Our client is a prestigious company operating in the Multi-utilities industry, with a remarkable presence and a fast growing business .

We are looking for a Finance Business Partner.

This role will report directly to the Group CFO and will be a key member of the Group Finance team. The successful candidate will act as a key partner to the shareholders and business leadership of the Company in forecasting, planning & budgeting; challenging and delivering the strategy; providing Treasury oversight; and decision-making support through reporting and analysis.

The successful candidate will be an experienced finance professional with a performance focus who possess commercial as well as financial capabilities. The Finance Business Partner will be responsible for ensuring that accurate and timely data analysis is provided to the key stakeholders and add value to strategic and commercial decision-making.

The responsibilities will include:

Management reporting

The Finance Business Partner must ensure accurate and timely financial management information is prepared with detailed analysis of costs, revenues and underlying drivers of performance. Ensuring a detailed understanding of the drivers of business performance and providing relevant insight to other management team members. Participating in monthly discussion with senior management and shareholders, to present and explain latest business performance and any budget variances. Challenging current ways of working, driving efficiencies and optimise financial processes so as to accelerate reporting timescales.

Business Planning and Development

Working in close partnership with the individual budget holders and the Group Finance team to provide accurate, timely and comprehensive annual budgets. Building strong relations with relevant budget holders and acting as a key point of contact to support commercial business, capital and investment proposals. Challenging business managers to ensure that all concepts have been properly considered before budgets and investment decisions are presented to stakeholders for approval.

Treasury

Ensuring that compliance with debt covenants is closely monitored, including preparation of monthly re-forecasting of performance vs covenants. Ensuring effective management of each company’s working capital. Monitoring intercompany financing arrangements. Managing financial relationships with shareholders, including monitoring of interest payments, debt payments, dividends and associated reporting. Support the management of external bank debt.

Other

Acting as a financial steward, helping to ensure that decisions made are in the best interests of the businesses concerned and their shareholders. Support and assist the identification and management of financial risks faced, including market, credit and pricing. Supporting preparation for annual reviews of business strategy, with a focus on driving growth, managing cost and generating investment returns. Assisting with year-end audit.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will have proven experience in each of the areas identified above as well as: A minimum of 5/6 years post-graduation experience, ideally with an international audit firm. MBA or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance Fluent in both Italian and English. Background within a relevant industry, such as energy and utilities. Understanding of key commercial issues impacting the business. Strong presentational and analytical skills to support effective commercial decision-making at senior levels of the businesses. Strong project management and organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectively.

Personal Qualities & Leadership Competencies

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact clearly and effectively with key stakeholders, including senior management, shareholders and the board of directors (in both Italian and English). Ability to influence and partner with finance as well as non-finance managers. Ability to be effective within a rapidly changing business environment and be comfortable with proposing, justifying, initiating and implementing change, for example to improve the efficiency of finance processes. Ability to encourage a culture of shared goals and objectives, promoting teamwork and collaboration throughout the business. A hardworking and committed work ethic; strong attention to detail.

Salary package: euro 40.000/45.000
